The following is a summary of the current Georgia PTCO Bylaws regarding board of director elections and appointments.

The Georgia PTCO's board of directors serves a 1 year term, starting and ending at the June regular monthly meeting. Elections for the upcoming year are held at the May regular monthly meeting (usually the 3rd Tuesday of every month), and the official transfer of responsibilities happens at the following June regular monthly meeting.

All board positions are open for voting at every election. If a position is unfilled, for example if no-one runs for that position or if someone resigns before their term is up, board members can appoint someone to any open position(s) once the transfer of responsibilities has been completed.

Current board member positions are:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Communications Director

Any Georgia resident or guardian of a current GEMS student who's attended a regular Georgia PTCO meeting to its adjournment since February of that year may run for any of those board positions. At the board's discretion, any single board position may be co-chaired by up to 2 people. In such a case, both people need to be voted on individually at the election.

If you're interested in running for any of the above positions, please submit a letter of introduction to the following email addresses:
